ACA Compliance Group hires cybersecurity, technology risk head
By Sunniva Kolostyak
ACA Compliance Group has appointed the former Garter/CEB global IT leader Kavitha Venkita to oversee ACA Aponix, the dedicated global cybersecurity and technology risk advisory team at ACA.
Venkita, the first female cyber expert to head the department, will be in charge of all aspects of the business, including cybersecurity advisory, cyber and technology risk diligence for financial sponsors and corporates, and vendor management.
She brings over 20 years of experience in launching, managing, and growing technology and information services businesses globally, including through mergers and acquisitions. She previously held roles in strategy consulting and at Gartner/CEB, where she built and led the global IT and Government practices.
Previously, Venkita has worked with many Fortune 500 CISOs and led teams that produced best practice research on topics such as security KPIs, third-party risk management, and transforming the security function to true risk management.
Commenting on the appointment, Shvetank Shah, CEO of ACA Compliance Group, said: “Kavitha is a coach par excellence, a product and process innovator, has an uncanny ability to sort through competing arguments to get a group to a point, a creative collaborator across functional boundaries, and does it all with infectious energy.”
Kavitha Venkita, Partner and ACA Aponix Business Lead, said: “In my years working with security and IT leaders, I have seen the ongoing mutation of security risks organisations face, and the threats have never been greater than now. The need for exceptional guidance and best practices to develop a holistic approach to cybersecurity and technology risk is no longer a nice-to-have, it is a necessity. ACA Aponix provides innovative solutions for our clients to make their programs seamless and effective. I’m excited to join this talented team and to help expand the business.”
Carlo di Florio, Chief Services Officer at ACA Compliance Group, added: “To successfully navigate the future of risk and compliance and respond to rapidly evolving circumstances, firms need to build operational resilience that can manage cyber threats, information security, business disruption, and technology and third-party risk across the enterprise and beyond. I’m delighted to work side-by-side with Kavitha to meet the evolving needs of our clients. She’s a strong leader with a passion to inspire her team to provide superior client service and innovative solutions to help clients grow and protect their business.”
