10x Banking has partnered with HassemPrag to deliver a cloud-native core banking and digital orchestration solution to financial institutions across Africa as lenders in the region accelerate efforts to modernise legacy infrastructure.
Announced in London and Johannesburg, the collaboration combines 10x Banking’s cloud-native core platform with HassemPrag’s integration capabilities and regional implementation expertise. The companies said the joint proposition is designed to provide banks with a unified, modular solution that can be deployed incrementally, reducing the risks typically associated with large-scale core banking transformations.
Banks across Africa are contending with tightening local regulations, intensifying competition from FinTech entrants, and the rising cost of maintaining ageing core systems. Against this backdrop, investment in core infrastructure is increasing. The core banking software market in the Middle East and Africa is projected to reach $2.2 billion in revenue by 2030, reflecting growing demand for scalable and compliant digital infrastructure.
The partners aim to address these pressures by offering a cloud-native platform that supports real-time processing and faster product deployment. According to the companies, the architecture enables banks to roll out new products in months rather than years, while lowering operational overheads and avoiding disruptive “rip-and-replace” migrations.
Jayesh Prag, CEO of HassemPrag, said the perceived risks of core transformation have historically slowed modernisation across the continent. “Our partnership with 10x Banking changes the equation by providing a unified digital banking platform that’s fast to deploy and proven at massive scale. Banks need a de-risked path to transformation, and a partner that truly understands the market they operate in,” he said.
10x Banking’s technology underpins digital banking operations at institutions including OM Bank and Chase UK, and has been positioned as a means of enabling high-volume, real-time banking services. Through the partnership, African banks will gain access to similar infrastructure, alongside HassemPrag’s orchestration layer and local delivery capabilities.
The move reflects a broader shift among African financial institutions toward modular, cloud-based architectures that allow incremental upgrades and faster digital service launches. As digital adoption deepens across the continent, core banking modernisation is increasingly viewed not only as a technology upgrade but as a strategic lever for competitiveness and financial inclusion.
