Pine Labs partners GCash to enter Philippines market

Global FinTech platform Pine Labs has entered the Philippines market through a partnership with GCash for Business, the merchant solutions arm of GCash.

Under the partnership, Pine Labs will power merchant payment infrastructure for GCash, enabling features such as installment payment plans, loyalty rewards, cashback offerings, and support for multiple payment modes including card and QR payments.

The collaboration will also help MSMEs in the Philippines access point-of-sale solutions and digital payment tools through Pine Labs’ software stack.

GCash for Business currently offers solutions such as PocketPay, which converts smartphones into POS devices, and SoundPay for real-time payment confirmations. The platform has also launched devices including SoundPay Plus and EasyPOS for merchants.

With Pine Labs’ technology integration, merchants on the GCash network will be able to accept both QR and card-based payments.

Pine Labs already has a presence in the Philippines through its local entity and works with banks, merchants, and financial institutions in the region. The company also powers gift card programmes for SM Retail in the country.

Pine Labs operates across markets including India, Malaysia, Philippines, UAE, Singapore, Australia, the US, and parts of Africa, offering digital payments, merchant commerce, issuing, and FinTech infrastructure solutions.
