TransUnion CIBIL has partnered with NPCI BHIM Services Limited to integrate credit score access directly into the BHIM platform.
The new feature allows users to view their CIBIL Score and Credit Information Report within the app, removing the need to switch between platforms. Access is based on explicit user consent, with credit data retrieved only after approval, in line with privacy and transparency requirements.
Lalitha Nataraj, MD and CEO, NPCI BHIM Services Ltd, said, “BHIM Payments App has been built with a clear focus on simplicity and user control. Through our collaboration with TransUnion CIBIL, we are extending this approach to credit awareness, enabling users to access their CIBIL Score easily within the BHIM App. This is a step towards helping users make more informed financial decisions as part of their everyday journeys.”
BHIM, which supports more than 15 Indian languages, is used across both urban and rural areas and offers features such as expense splitting, family mode and spending analytics. The addition of credit score access expands its functionality beyond payments, enabling users to monitor their financial health alongside everyday transactions.
The integration reflects a broader trend of embedding financial services within digital payment platforms, as providers look to offer more comprehensive tools in a single interface. By combining payments and credit information, the initiative aims to improve financial awareness and accessibility for a wider user base.
