Carplus has partnered with FinTech firm Marshmallow, aimed at improving access to car finance for individuals who have recently moved to the United Kingdom.
The addition of Marshmallow to Carplus’s lender panel introduces more inclusive financing options for customers whose UK credit history may not fully reflect their financial background. By incorporating alternative data, including overseas financial and driving records, the partnership seeks to provide a more accurate assessment of creditworthiness.
Founded in 2017, Marshmallow initially gained recognition for transforming car insurance for newcomers to the UK by factoring in international driving experience. The company has since expanded into lending, applying its data-driven approach to offer fairer credit solutions for underserved segments.
Roman Danaev, Founder of Carplus, said: “Marshmallow has already changed how insurance works for this group, and we’re proud to be working with them to do the same for car finance. Their mission is now ours too—making car finance accessible for people who have recently moved to the UK.”
The partnership aligns with Carplus’s broader strategy to widen access to financial services across diverse customer profiles. As migration for work, education, and family reasons continues to grow in the UK, demand for flexible and inclusive financial products is rising.
Both companies emphasised their shared commitment to ensuring that limited UK residency does not become a barrier to accessing essential financial services. By expanding its lender network, Carplus aims to offer more tailored financing solutions that reflect individual circumstances rather than relying solely on traditional credit models.
