Appzillon powers Consumer and Corporate Internet Banking App at Phillip Bank Cambodia

Phillip Bank is a member of Phillip Capital Group which is headquartered in Singapore and established in 1975. The Group offers a full range of quality and innovative services to retail, corporate and institutional customers and currently operates in over 15 countries. They offer a wide range of financial services and products catering to Corporate, SME and Retail customers.

i-exceed is a software development company that specializes in developing innovative technology solutions for a wide range of industries, including banking and finance, healthcare, education, and more. The company provides a comprehensive range of software development services, including custom software development, product engineering, cloud computing, and mobile application development.

Phillip Bank partnered with i-exceed to launch an Internet Banking solution for individuals as well as the corporate banking customers in the bank. The Project Scope consisted of understanding the Internet banking requirements of the Bank for its Consumer and Corporate customers and came up with an application with the latest set of features for the Cambodia Market

 

Implementation Process:

The implementation team consisted of a collaboration between the bank and vendor.  The bank team was led by the CEO and a Strong IT team under CIO. The i-exceed team was led by an offshore dedicated BA/PM with technical developers and testing team. This Project was signed in May 2020 just as the Pandemic started to spread. With travel restrictions we had to come up with a innovative strategy of remote working of the various teams (office/home/complete remote install config etc). The entire requirements discussions, building /sharing and agreeing on wireframes, development and rollout was completed in 6-7 months with zero onsite travel by the Implementation teams. The i-exceed team adopted a Platform driven approach with Bank IT teams trained on Appzillon Platform to take up future inhouse development.

The implementation included a Single Source code based Internet Banking Application ( with a future extension to Mobile) , Quick Integration with a Core banking system using APIs. Corporate Features like Payroll, Bulk file upload and Trade finance. The Entire project was executed remotely in a period of 6-7 months in the middle of the Pandemic.

 

Benefits Achieved:

The Retail Customers were able to access a number of functions in the Internet banking namely Login, Dashboard, Accounts, Mobile Top-up, Payment, Transfers, Cards, Standing Instructions, Services. Additionally the Corporate Customers had access to a Workflow based approval Matrix, Bulk Uploads, Payroll and Trade services.

Consumer Internet banking included all local Cambodia Retail features. Corporate functionality included Trade Finance.

 

Conclusion:

i-exceed provided Phillip Bank with a comprehensive internet banking solution which provided customers with easy access to a variety of features such as Loans, Deposits, Payments, transfers and Trade Finance Features. Moreover, the solution also had scalable features such as single source code building, quick and easy integration with a core banking system using APIs and corporate features like payroll, bulk file upload and trade finance. The solution was also comprehensive in terms of inclusion of all local Cambodia Retail features.
