Sunrate partners with Netstorming to improve travel payments
By Divya Shah
Why it matters: The partnership expanded digital payment options for travel businesses, supporting cross-border transactions, multi-currency settlements and more efficient supplier payment management.
Global payment and treasury management platform Sunrate has partnered with travel technology company Netstorming. The partnership aimed to provide travel businesses with more flexible options for managing business-to-business (B2B) payments.
Through the agreement, Sunrate Cards were added to Netstorming’s payment solutions portfolio, allowing eligible travel businesses to use the cards for supplier payments and other business expenses.
Sunrate co-founder and CEO Paul Meng said the partnership brought innovative payment solutions closer to the technology used by global travel businesses. He also highlighted the company’s ambition to develop more intelligent and seamless payment experiences, including next-generation capabilities such as its recently launched Agentic Card.
Sunrate Cards offered businesses greater control over their payments through configurable spending limits, enhanced security features and real-time transaction monitoring. The cards also supported settlements in more than 16 currencies, helping travel companies manage payments across international markets while reducing the complexity of traditional payment methods.
“Our partnership with Netstorming combines its deep travel technology expertise and network with Sunrate’s global payment capabilities, giving travel businesses another efficient way to manage supplier payments,” said Paul Batchelor, Head of Business Development, Europe, at Sunrate.
The partnership further strengthened Sunrate’s presence in the global travel technology ecosystem. The company worked with travel technology and payment platforms to provide services including card issuance, international payments, global collections, global acquiring and treasury management solutions.
