Why it matters: As ETF adoption continues to grow, investment firms are increasingly seeking integrated data and analytics solutions that eliminate manual data handling and reconciliation. By embedding ETF and index data directly into risk management workflows, Ultumus and ActiveViam are helping firms improve data quality, accelerate portfolio analysis and gain faster insights into risk exposures.

Ultumus, a provider of ETF and index data, calculation and workflow solutions, has partnered with ActiveViam to make its ETF and index data available through the Atoti risk analytics platform.

The collaboration is designed to address a common challenge faced by investment managers, who often need to source and reconcile ETF and index data separately from the platforms used for portfolio analytics, exposure measurement and risk calculations.

By integrating Ultumus’ data directly into Atoti, the partners aim to simplify access to validated ETF and index information while reducing the operational burden associated with data integration and reconciliation.

Bernie Thurston, CEO of Ultumus, said, “Investment managers don’t want another data integration to manage; they want the right data where they are already working. Making Ultumus’ ETF and index data available through Atoti means ActiveViam’s clients get it exactly where they run their risk and portfolio calculations. It’s the kind of partnership that gets our data closer to the buy side, faster.”

Through the integration, Atoti users will be able to access validated and versioned ETF and index composition data alongside reference datasets within their existing risk management workflows. The companies said this will help investment teams accelerate analysis while providing a more consistent and reliable data foundation for decision-making.

The partnership is particularly aimed at asset managers, hedge funds and other institutional investors that rely on timely and accurate data to understand portfolio exposures and risk positions.

Shelley Magee, CEO of ActiveViam, said, “Our clients rely on Atoti to give them a single, trusted view of risk. Adding Ultumus’ validated ETF and index data extends that view to the ETFs and indices behind their portfolios, without a separate sourcing and integration project. For asset managers and hedge funds, that means less time reconciling data and more time acting on what it tells them.”

The move reflects broader demand among buy-side firms for integrated data and analytics environments that reduce operational complexity while improving transparency and efficiency across risk management processes.
