Rain launches embedded stablecoin wallets for partner apps
By Divya Shah
Why it matters: Rain’s launch highlights growing demand for embedded stablecoin infrastructure that mirrors traditional banking experiences. By combining wallets, cards, payouts, and on-ramps through one integration, FinTechs can accelerate digital asset adoption, reduce development complexity, and deliver seamless payment experiences while maintaining flexibility across blockchain networks and assets.
Global stablecoin payments platform Rain has launched embedded stablecoin wallets, enabling partners to offer users a dedicated place to hold, spend, save, and transfer digital assets directly within their own applications.
The newly introduced wallets sit at the centre of Rain’s payments infrastructure and are accessible through the same integration that supports card issuance, rewards programmes, and money movement. This allows users to manage stablecoin balances through a single account while accessing different financial services without leaving the partner’s app.
The launch addresses a key challenge for businesses looking to introduce stablecoin-based services by providing a seamless way for users to hold and use digital assets. The company said the wallet enables the full lifecycle of money to take place within one ecosystem, from receiving funds to spending or transferring them.
Pooja Shah, Head of Product at Rain, said, “When a company builds with stablecoins, the first thing its users need is a place to hold them. Rain wallets are that place. Because they are integrated into the broader Rain stack, every balance is ready to use the moment it arrives. Partners can get all of it from Rain or keep the wallet they have and plug it into everything else we run.”
Rain said the wallet serves as the core account underpinning its full-stack platform. Users can receive funds through virtual accounts or onramps, spend through payment cards, transfer money, and convert balances into local currency for bank account payouts. The entire process can be completed within a partner’s application, reducing friction and simplifying fund flows.
Businesses that already use a third-party wallet provider can connect those wallets to Rain’s broader infrastructure, including cards, rewards programmes, onramps, and payout services. The wallets support multiple stablecoins and crypto assets across major blockchain networks, giving partners flexibility in choosing supported assets and chains.
Rain noted that non-custodial wallets are available immediately, while custodial wallet functionality and additional earning capabilities on balances are scheduled to be introduced by the end of the year.
The launch represents another step in the evolution of stablecoin payments, as FinTechs and enterprises increasingly seek integrated infrastructure that combines digital asset storage, payments, transfers, and on-chain financial services within a single platform.
