Carta secured Luxembourg PSF licence to expand private capital platform
By Divya Shah
Why this matters: Carta’s Luxembourg PSF licence highlights the growing demand for integrated, regulated digital infrastructure in private markets. By combining fund administration, KYC, transfer agency and reporting on a single AI-enabled platform, Carta reduces operational complexity and manual processes for fund managers.
Carta, the connected platform for private capital, has secured authorisation as a fully licensed Specialised Professional of the Financial Sector (PSF) from Luxembourg’s financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).
The licence allows Carta to provide five regulated functions, including registrar agency, corporate domiciliation, company incorporation and management services, administrative agency services, and client communication agency services. The approval also enables the company to offer licensed fund administration and transfer agency capabilities directly through its Luxembourg platform.
The move completed Carta’s Luxembourg offering, allowing fund managers with parallel and feeder fund structures to manage operations through a single system of record across multiple jurisdictions. The platform combines fund administration, transfer agency, fund accounting, KYC and closing processes within one integrated environment.
Yves Cheret, authorised manager at Carta, said, “Parallel funds, feeder structures, multi-jurisdictional reporting, and complex KYC flows: this is exactly the environment where having everything on one connected system of record makes the difference. With this authorisation, we complete the picture with a licensed, proven platform serving one of the world’s most demanding markets, backed by a team of fund administration experts and a network of trusted local partners.”
Alongside the authorisation, Carta launched a range of Luxembourg-specific features. These include Lux Closings for compliant fund structure closings across RAIF, SIF and SICAR structures, as well as a unified KYC solution with real-time onboarding status tracking for investors.
The company said AI-powered agents support the platform by reconciling data across jurisdictions while maintaining full audit trails. According to Carta, 90% of cash transactions are automatically reconciled within 24 hours and 90% of capital calls are established within the same period, with all AI-assisted workflows subject to human verification.
Over the past year, Carta also expanded its private markets ecosystem through the acquisitions of LP Portfolio Analytics, Loan Operations, Carta CRM and Carta Law. These additions extended the platform’s capabilities across portfolio management, private credit administration, investor relations and legal workflows.
Carta said its platform is designed to work alongside Luxembourg’s established financial ecosystem, including depositary banks and other service providers used by fund managers.
