RED Bank Fiji, part of the BRED Group, has completed the migration of all active Visa and private-label cards to BPC’s cloud-based SmartVista issuing platform.

The migration follows the earlier upgrade of the bank’s acquiring services and forms part of BRED Group’s broader rollout of the SmartVista platform across its international operations.

By adopting SmartVista, BRED Bank Fiji aims to strengthen its card issuing capabilities with a scalable infrastructure that supports faster deployment of new card programmes while enhancing the security and consistency of payment services.

The upgrade is expected to improve payment experiences for both customers and merchants by expanding acceptance of international cards across domestic, cross-border and e-commerce transactions.

Pierre-Antoine Vallet, Deputy CEO and Chief Financial and Information Officer at BRED Bank Fiji, said,“The successful migration in Fiji gives us a modern and scalable platform to strengthen card issuing, improve customer services and support our future growth.”

Across BRED Group’s markets, the platform supports a range of merchant payment capabilities, including contactless and multi-currency acceptance, purchase with cash-out, pre-authorisation, cash advances, refunds, reversals, multi-currency settlement and digital merchant onboarding.

As part of the next phase of the programme, BRED Bank Fiji plans to integrate its payment gateway with the SmartVista platform to enhance online payment processing and deliver a faster and more secure checkout experience.

The bank has also selected BPC’s AI-powered SmartVista Fraud Management solution to strengthen fraud prevention across ATM, point-of-sale and e-commerce channels.

Georgy Rashin, Head of Delivery APAC at BPC, said the partnership will enable the bank to expand secure digital payment services while strengthening payment acceptance capabilities.

The next stages of the modernisation programme will include additional issuing enhancements, virtual cards, cardless withdrawals, UPI card acceptance and new merchant portals.
