Ant International’s Forex AI tool attracts Citi, HSBC and Barclays
By Puja Sharma

Ant International has launched an upgraded artificial intelligence model for financial forecasting, with six major global banks adopting the technology as lenders increasingly turn to specialised AI for foreign exchange (FX) and liquidity risk management.
The Singapore-based FinTech has rolled out Falcon Time-Series Transformer Model 2.0, designed to forecast cash flows and FX exposure for cross-border payments. Citi, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered and Barclays are among the banks partnering with Ant International on the model.
Unlike general-purpose AI models, FalconTST 2.0 is built to process continuously changing financial data, including transaction flows, account balances and currency positions. Ant International said the upgraded model can deliver forecasting accuracy of more than 93% and help improve decisions around FX hedging and liquidity management.
The model is already being integrated into banks’ existing FX systems. Barclays is using it with its BARX NetFX platform, while Citi has combined it with its Fixed FX Rates solution. Standard Chartered is deploying the technology alongside its SCALE FX system as part of the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s PathFin.ai programme.
Ant International estimates that more precise forecasting could reduce FX hedging and allocation costs by more than 60%. The company is also looking to extend FalconTST beyond financial services into sectors including e-commerce, aviation and logistics.
The move highlights a broader shift in banking AI adoption. Financial institutions are increasingly moving beyond customer service and productivity use cases towards specialised applications in treasury, FX, liquidity, risk management and capital allocation.
The development also follows Ant International’s $1.2 billion equity fundraising in July, as the FinTech looks to expand its international operations.
