LemonEdge has raised $21 million in a Series A funding round led by Blackstone Innovations Investments, with participation from BNY and existing investor Sidekick Partners, to accelerate product development and support its expansion across the US and Europe.

David T. O’Malley, Chief Executive Officer of LemonEdge, said: “LemonEdge was built to simplify the complexity of the rapidly scaling private markets space. With this new funding, we plan to continue to address these major gaps and accelerate growth over the next 12 months, by bringing on a significant number of new clients and rapidly deploying our 2026 and 2027 innovation roadmap.”

Stevi Petrelli, Senior Managing Director and Head of Blackstone Innovations Investments, said: “Finance leaders choose accounting platforms that shorten close cycles, reduce audit risk and improve data insights. LemonEdge has built a trusted system of record for private markets, and embedded native AI capabilities to drive modern investor reporting and analytics.”

The company has provided a fund accounting and operations platform for private markets, enabling firms to manage accounting, reporting and operational workflows through a single system of record. LemonEdge has said the platform is designed to replace manual processes and legacy systems with real-time, auditable and automated workflows.

Alongside the funding, LemonEdge has appointed David T. O’Malley as Chief Executive Officer and Board Chair. The company has also named Katharine Briggs as Chief Growth Officer to lead its global go-to-market strategy, client delivery and business expansion across the US and EMEA.

The company has continued to position its platform to support private market firms seeking modern fund accounting infrastructure as demand for digital investment operations grows.
