UK construction payments FinTech Saible has raised $3.9 million in funding to expand its platform aimed at tackling delayed and non-payment across construction supply chains.
Jarvey Moss,Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Saible, said: “Late payment in construction goes beyond the balance sheet. It creates pressure that runs through businesses, workers and families.”
The funding comprised $2.8 million already secured and an additional $1.1 million raised from angel investors. Saible said the capital will support platform development, regulatory engagement and the rollout of its payment solution across more live construction projects.
The company’s Digital Parallel Payment Account (DiPPA) is designed to improve payment flows by enabling project funds to be released simultaneously to approved suppliers across every tier of the construction supply chain. Funds are held in trust with regulated banking partner Griffin, while Saible provides software for payment approvals, verification and audit. The model seeked to reduce delays associated with traditional payment chains, where funds pass through multiple contractors before reaching subcontractors.
The fundraising came as the UK construction sector faces continued pressure from late payments, insolvencies and proposed legislative reforms aimed at strengthening supplier protections. Saible believed its platform can provide project owners with greater visibility and control over payment distribution while helping smaller suppliers receive funds more quickly.
He added: “This funding allows us to expand our platform, support our regulatory work, and take Saible into more live projects with project funders that need clearer control over how money moves through the supply chain.”
Saible is also working with the Environment Agency and BAM Nuttall on public-sector pilot projects to evaluate its payment model. The company has additionally opened a limited crowdfunding allocation to enable smaller construction businesses and industry participants to invest alongside its angel backers.
