Embedding Sage’s accounting technology into Satago’s cashflow management platform will give lenders greater confidence in their decisions and help sole traders and micro businesses access funding, manage cashflow and reduce late payment pressure.

Sage, the firm which specialises in accounting, financial, HR and payroll technology for SMBs, has partnered with Satago, a FinTech platform and invoice finance partner across Sage’s product ecosystem. Together, the companies are helping banks and lenders extend invoice finance to previously underserved segments of the SMB market, including sole traders and micro businesses, while giving those businesses practical tools to manage cashflow, monitor customer risk and reduce the impact of late payments.

Building on their existing relationship, Satago will embed Sage’s accounting technology into its invoice finance platform, giving banks and lenders access to structured, real-time financial data for smaller businesses where that has historically been hard to obtain.

By combining Satago’s proven invoice finance capabilities with Sage’s embedded accounting technology, the partnership removes key barriers that have made lending to the smallest businesses difficult to scale. Alongside Satago’s existing integrations across Sage’s portfolio, this strengthens their joint role in supporting invoice finance across the SMB ecosystem, helping banks and lenders serve a broader range of SMBs with greater confidence. Through the partnership, invoices and transactions are created and recorded in a consistent, structured way, giving lenders clearer insight into financial performance and cashflow. With access to structured ledger data and real-time financial insights, banks and lenders can make more confident lending decisions, assess risk more accurately, and support stronger, more finance-ready businesses. The integrated experience also helps simplify onboarding and real-time monitoring, reducing manual processes and enabling lenders to serve sole traders and micro businesses more efficiently.

For businesses, invoices, payments and key financial information are managed within the Satago platform, powered by Sage, bringing together invoicing, financial reporting, accountant collaboration and cashflow management tools in one place. This reduces administrative burden, makes it easier to demonstrate financial health and creates a more straightforward path to funding.

Sinéad McHale, CEO, Satago said, “Our partnership with Sage represents an important step forward in making invoice finance and cashflow management tools more inclusive and easier to access. By combining Satago’s platform with Sage’s embedded accounting, we’re creating a more connected experience for both lenders and small businesses.

This enables banks and lenders to serve a broader segment of the market, while giving sole traders and micro businesses faster, more straightforward access to funding — without the complexity that has traditionally held them back. At the same time, Satago gives businesses of all sizes greater visibility and control over their cashflow, helping them manage with confidence.”
