Airwallex raises $320m in Series H funding at $11bn valuation
By Milan Rojan
Global payments and financial platform Airwallex has raised $320 million in a Series H funding round, taking its valuation to $11 billion as the company accelerates investment in AI-powered financial infrastructure and global expansion.
The funding round was led by existing investor Addition, with participation from Baillie Gifford, Hummingbird, QED Investors, T. Rowe Price, Hedosophia, Haun Ventures, Washington University in St. Louis and Amex Ventures. Airwallex said the fresh capital will be used to expand its global financial infrastructure, strengthen its presence in key markets and advance the development of autonomous finance and agentic commerce capabilities.
Lee Fixel, Founder of Addition, said: “What Airwallex has built is exceptionally difficult to replicate. As AI reshapes financial services, the companies with deep financial infrastructure will be best positioned to lead the next phase of innovation.”
The company said it continues to see strong business momentum, reporting annualised revenue of $1.3 billion, a 74% increase year on year, while annualised transaction volumes exceeded $287 billion. It added that more than 90% of its revenue is now generated by customers using multiple products across its financial platform.
Jack Zhang, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Airwallex, said, “We believe this is the most consequential moment in the history of global finance, and we are building accordingly. The licences, local network integrations and settlement rails we have spent years building are exactly the infrastructure needed for the emerging agentic economy. This funding allows us to continue scaling that infrastructure globally.”
Airwallex said it now serves more than 676,000 businesses globally through its payments and financial platform and holds more than 85 licences and permits worldwide. The company plans to use the new funding to expand its international footprint, enhance AI-native financial products and support businesses seeking to operate seamlessly across borders.
