FundsIndia raises $5.2m through maiden secured NCD issuance
By Milan Rojan
FundsIndia has completed its first private placement of secured non-convertible debentures (NCDs), raising approximately $5.2 million as the wealth management platform seeks to strengthen its technology infrastructure and expand its investment product offerings.
The issuance was led by the company’s Private Wealth division, which managed the allocation and distribution of the offer. FundsIndia said the proceeds will be used to enhance its platform capabilities and support the development of investment solutions across its retail, partner and private wealth businesses.
Akshay Sapru, Group CEO of FundsIndia, said: “Successfully completing our maiden secured NCD issuance shows the confidence investors place in the FundsIndia platform and our long-term vision. As demand for new fixed-income opportunities keeps growing, we remain focused on delivering solutions that help clients build resilient, diversified portfolios.”
The placement attracted participation from accredited investors and high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) through the firm’s Private Wealth platform. According to the company, demand was largely driven by investors seeking structured fixed-income products as part of broader portfolio diversification strategies.
Srinivas Mendu, CEO of FundsIndia Private Wealth, said: “The response to this issuance reflects the growing appetite among HNI and UHNI investors for curated fixed-income opportunities alongside traditional asset classes. Through our Private Wealth platform, we want to keep giving clients access to differentiated investment solutions that support long-term wealth preservation and growth.”
The transaction came amid increasing interest in fixed-income investments among affluent investors. As market conditions continue to evolve, many investors are allocating a greater share of their portfolios to debt instruments alongside traditional asset classes such as equities and mutual funds.
The issuance has marked a milestone for FundsIndia as it expanded its capital markets activities while broadening access to alternative investment opportunities. It has also highlighted the growing role of wealth management platforms in connecting investors with structured fixed-income products amid changing market dynamics.
