First American taps Jack Henry for core upgrade

First American Bank and Trust has selected Jack Henry to support its core banking modernisation strategy, as the community bank has sought to enhance its digital capabilities, strengthen operational resilience and expand payment services for customers.
As part of the agreement, First American Bank and Trust has adopted Jack Henry’s core banking platform, the Banno Digital Platform and Tap2Local, a payment acceptance solution designed for small businesses.
Brian St. Pierre, President and CEO of First American Bank and Trust, said: “We were looking for a technology provider that could support our long-term vision while helping us deliver modern experiences to our customers. Jack Henry’s technology and service model aligned well with our strategic goals.”
Headquartered in Vacherie, Louisiana, First American Bank and Trust has served retail and business customers across south-east Louisiana for more than a century. The bank has managed approximately $1 billion in assets and has operated a network of 25 branches.
Megan Walden, Senior Vice President of Payments at Jack Henry, said: “Community banks continue to seek technology that helps them compete effectively while maintaining the personal relationships that define their institutions. We’re pleased to support First American Bank and Trust as it advances its digital strategy.”
The move has marked a transition from the bank’s existing in-house environment to a hosted technology model. According to the companies, the deployment has been aimed at improving operational efficiency, supporting future growth and helping the institution respond to changing customer expectations.
Jack Henry’s Banno Digital Platform has provided digital banking capabilities, including financial management and customer engagement tools, while Tap2Local has enabled businesses to accept payments through QR codes, payment links and tap-to-pay functionality using mobile devices.
The implementation has reflected broader investment across the US community banking sector, where institutions have increasingly adopted cloud-based and hosted platforms to improve resilience, modernise customer experiences and expand digital payment capabilities.
