WaveBL and TradeWaltz have signed an integration agreement that has linked their digital trade platforms and has expanded access to trade finance connectivity in Japan.

The deal has enabled users on TradeWaltz, including Japanese banks and corporates, to access WaveBL’s global network of carriers, banks and corporates. It has allowed electronic structured bank presentations and bills of lading to be consumed from the WaveBL platform, supporting fully digital document presentation for letters of credit and collection transactions.

Noam Rosenfeld, chief executive officer of WaveBL, said, “This agreement represents an important step in expanding digital trade connectivity into Japan. By integrating with TradeWaltz, we are enabling access to a highly strategic banking ecosystem and supporting the transition to digital trade finance workflows across key global markets.”

TradeWaltz has been backed by a consortium of leading Japanese stakeholders, including the country’s three megabanks, which have played a central role in Japan’s global trade finance market. The integration has aimed to connect WaveBL’s wider international network with one of Asia’s largest banking ecosystems.

Takahiro Sato, president and chief executive officer of TradeWaltz, said, “Through this strategic integration with WaveBL, we are not only accelerating the adoption of secure digital trade documentation but also taking a significant first step towards advanced settlement and next-generation trade finance standards leveraging blockchain infrastructure.”

He added that the connection has enabled users to participate in a broader global trade and finance network while maintaining security and compliance standards.

The companies said the integration has been designed to reduce reliance on paper-based processes, streamline trade finance workflows and speed up transaction timelines across cross-border trade.
