Thunes has launched real-time payment capabilities in the United States, expanding its Direct Global Network with a single-API route for USD payouts via ACH, Same-Day ACH and real-time payment rails. The Singapore-based payments infrastructure firm has said the service is supported by a direct connection to a tier 1 US financial institution and its licence footprint of 50 Money Transmission Licences across US states and territories.

The company has said the new setup was designed to reduce latency, lower transactional costs and cut rejection risk by bypassing multi-layer intermediary chains. Thunes has stated that its Direct Global Network reaches 140 countries, supports more than 90 currencies and connects to over 12 billion mobile wallet, stablecoin wallet and bank account endpoints.

Chloé Mayenobe, Deputy CEO of Thunes, said, “USD payments into the US have historically been sluggish, opaque, and heavily burdened by fees associated with cross-border money movement – particularly for businesses. By leveraging our licences across the states to introduce connections to direct, real-time domestic rails alongside institutional-grade USD clearing, we are addressing a multi-trillion-dollar market gap. Thunes is making large-size B2B payments instant and friction-free and making consumer payouts easier than ever, giving our members in the rest of the world the ability to payout into the US like locals.”

The launch was aimed at a broad set of international customers, including gig economy platforms, money transfer operators, payment service providers, banks and neobanks. Thunes has said the capability gives these firms access to domestic US clearing rails through one integration, rather than multiple separate arrangements.

Ximena Azcuy, Head of Network – Americas at Thunes, said, “Our direct integration with a primary US financial institution is an absolute game-changer for international businesses and end users. We are opening the floodgates for seamless, high-volume cross-border money movement into the United States. Whether a company requires cost-efficient batch processing via ACH or a real-time payment scheme, Thunes now delivers the ultimate competitive edge for our members around the world.”

The move has strengthened Thunes’ position in the cross-border payments market as demand for faster and more transparent USD settlement continues to grow.
