Remote has expanded access to its payroll and employment platform in Australia as the company increases its focus on AI-enabled workforce infrastructure and cross-border employment services.

The company said its payroll business grew more than 300% year-on-year, reached annual recurring revenue of USD $300 million, and became cash-flow positive. As part of the expansion, Remote is opening its platform more broadly to partners, developers, customers, and AI agents.

Among the new offerings is Remote MCP, a tool that allows AI agents to connect directly with payroll systems, contracts, compliance data, and organisational information. The company has also launched Remote Build, a service designed to help businesses with platform implementation and infrastructure support.

Remote said Australia is a key market for its APAC growth strategy as businesses increasingly manage employees, contractors, and remote workers across multiple countries and jurisdictions.

Job van der Voort, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Remote, said the company is focused on building trusted infrastructure for global employment.

“At our core, we have always been in the business of trust: making sure people get paid correctly, compliantly, and with dignity, wherever they are in the world,” van der Voort said.

Nick Martin, APAC Go-To-Market Lead at the company, highlighted the growing importance of cross-border employment in the region.

“This is especially important in the APAC region, where we see significant cross-border collaboration with contractors, offshore employees, and employees working remotely from different states and countries around the region,” Martin said.

The company’s platform supports services including global payroll, employer of record solutions, and contractor management. Remote also works with HR software providers including Workday, BambooHR, and Personio.

Remote said it currently operates more than 100 owned legal entities worldwide and processes billions of dollars in payroll annually, positioning itself to support businesses navigating increasingly complex international hiring and compliance requirements.
