Verdane completes acquisition of Augmentum Fintech
By Parth Prabhudesai
European private equity firm Verdane has completed its acquisition of Augmentum Fintech following shareholder approval and the delisting of Augmentum’s shares from the London Stock Exchange on May 13, 2026.
The deal strengthens Verdane’s position in the European FinTech investment sector and expands its exposure to fast-growing financial technology companies across the region. Augmentum Fintech is known for backing FinTech businesses with strong long-term growth potential and has invested in 34 companies over the past decade.
Verdane said it will work closely with Augmentum Fintech’s management team and portfolio companies to support future growth and expansion. The private equity firm plans to leverage its experience in scaling technology-focused businesses and executing complex portfolio transactions.
Moez Gharbi, Partner at Verdane, said the partnership would help strengthen Europe’s FinTech ecosystem and support the next phase of growth for portfolio companies. He added that the transaction reflected Verdane’s continued focus on digitalisation and technology investments across Europe.
Tim Levene, Chief Executive Officer of Augmentum Fintech, said the company had established itself as one of Europe’s leading FinTech investors and that partnering with Verdane would provide greater capital strength and long-term support for existing and future investments.
Patrick Mitschka, Director at Verdane, said the acquisition would allow both firms to collaborate closely on supporting Augmentum’s current portfolio while identifying new opportunities in the financial technology sector.
The acquisition also highlights growing investor interest in Europe’s FinTech market, as private equity firms continue seeking opportunities in digital financial services, payments, lending, and embedded finance platforms.
