BEA International Bank goes live with Temenos SaaS in Europe
By Vriti Gothi

BEA International Bank, the French subsidiary of Banque Extérieure d’Algérie, has gone live with core banking and financial crime mitigation systems from Temenos on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) basis, as part of its expansion into the European market.
The newly established bank has launched operations in France, opening branches in Paris, Marseille and Saint-Denis. BEA International Bank is authorised by the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution and the European Central Bank.
The deployment includes Temenos Core and FCM delivered via Temenos SaaS, alongside regulatory reporting tools configured for French requirements. The cloud-native set-up is designed to provide operational scalability and support product roll-out as the bank builds its presence in the French market.
BEA International Bank forms part of BEA’s broader strategy to extend its footprint in Europe. The French subsidiary is positioned as a universal bank, offering current and savings accounts, mortgage lending, and services for professionals and businesses operating domestically and internationally.
The implementation leveraged Temenos’ Country Model Bank framework, which includes pre-configured product settings and compliance templates intended to accelerate time to market and align with local regulatory standards. The project was delivered in collaboration with IT services firm LTIMindtree.
Mohammed-Lamine Lebbou, Managing Director, BEA International Bank, commented, “Launching BEA International Bank in France is a major milestone for us. Temenos SaaS simplified the deployment of the core banking functionality for our new operations and gives us the flexibility and scalability to deliver innovative services to our customers while supporting our long-term growth ambitions.”
Santhosh Rao, Managing Director – MEA, Temenos, added, “We are proud to support BEA International Bank in its successful launch in France. This go-live highlights Temenos’ strong track record of enabling banks across Europe to build and grow using the latest cloud core banking technology. We look forward to continuing our partnership as BEA International expands its presence in France and beyond.”
The move underscores a broader trend of incumbent and newly licensed banks adopting SaaS-based core systems to reduce infrastructure complexity, accelerate regulatory compliance, and enable faster product innovation in competitive European markets.
