London-based cloud payments provider Form3 has partnered with merchant FinTech SumUp, enabling the company to access key European payment schemes, including SEPA Instant, SEPA Credit Transfer, and SEPA Direct Debit.

The move extends SumUp’s existing use of Form3’s platform in the UK, where it already connects to Faster Payments and Bacs, and supports the FinTech’s efforts to deliver faster and more consistent payment experiences to its network of more than four million merchants across 37 countries.

By consolidating multiple payment capabilities through a single infrastructure provider, SumUp aims to simplify its payments architecture, reduce operational complexity, and support expansion across European markets. The integration also allows the company to process real-time euro payments, a growing requirement for small businesses seeking improved liquidity and faster settlement.

Form3’s cloud-native platform is designed to handle continuous, high-volume transaction processing and to support compliance with evolving regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions. The single-platform approach is intended to help FinTechs scale transaction volumes and add new payment rails without significant changes to underlying systems.

Edward Wilde, Chief Technology Officer at Form3, said, “As FinTechs grow to operate across multiple markets, they need payments infrastructure that is reliable and straightforward to run. Using one platform across regions helps reduce cost and complexity and supports efficient growth.”

He added that the platform allows partners to expand payment capabilities “without having to make significant changes to their underlying infrastructure or endure complex onboarding processes,” enabling them to remain focused on customer needs.

Antoniya Ditsova, Product Lead – Global Bank at SumUp, said the expanded integration strengthens the company’s access to European payment schemes and enables SEPA Instant functionality. “This allows us to offer real-time capabilities so our customers can move money as fast as they do business. It’s a vital component of our growth as we continue to build a comprehensive financial toolkit for small businesses,” she said.

The development reflects broader industry momentum toward real-time account-to-account payments across Europe, where instant settlement is becoming a competitive differentiator for FinTechs serving small and medium-sized enterprises. For providers like SumUp, access to scalable, multi-market infrastructure is increasingly critical as transaction volumes grow and cross-border expansion accelerates.
