NPST

Network People Services Technologies Limited (NPST) has entered into a strategic partnership with enterprise software provider Infinity Infoway to convert education and transport identity cards into digital RuPay prepaid cards, targeting increased digitisation of payments across institutional and mobility ecosystems.

Under the partnership, NPST’s RuPay-enabled TimePay prepaid card will be embedded into Infinity Infoway’s ERP platforms, allowing student IDs, employee IDs and driver IDs to function as secure payment credentials. The model integrates payments directly into operational workflows, enabling transactions to be governed by organisational policies rather than manual controls.

The initiative reflects a broader shift in India’s FinTech sector towards embedded finance, where payments are integrated into existing enterprise systems rather than offered as standalone products. By combining identity, access control and prepaid payments, the solution aims to address long-standing challenges around cash handling, expense misuse and operational transparency in education and transport environments.

Infinity Infoway’s ERP layer manages identity issuance, role-based access, approvals and policy enforcement, while NPST provides the payment infrastructure. As a result, spending limits, permitted merchants and usage categories are defined by organisational rules, creating an auditable and compliant payment environment.

For educational institutions, the platform enables controlled cashless payments across campus use cases such as canteens, bookstores and transport services. Parents can preload funds onto student credentials, reducing reliance on cash while maintaining transaction visibility and oversight. For transport operators and fleet owners, driver IDs can be configured for restricted use at authorised fuel stations or expense categories, addressing issues such as fuel overbilling and cash advance misuse.

The solution is designed to function across both online and offline acceptance points and will be rolled out in phases across India, starting with select educational institutions and enterprises before wider expansion, subject to regulatory requirements.

The partnership underscores growing interest among Indian FinTech and enterprise technology providers in combining identity, ERP and payments infrastructure to drive adoption of controlled, purpose-led digital payments across large user bases.
