Perfios has launched an AI-powered, real-time operating system for banks and financial institutions, a push to move the sector beyond task-level automation toward what it describes as “Cognitive Finance.” The new platform brings together multiple agentic AI systems into a single intelligence layer designed to support decision-making across onboarding, underwriting, risk management, collections, and embedded finance.

The launch comes as regulators, including the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), increase scrutiny on the use of artificial intelligence in financial services, emphasising explainability, governance, and accountability. Against this backdrop, Perfios is positioning its operating system as an enterprise-grade alternative to fragmented AI deployments that often lack transparency and regulatory alignment.

According to the company, financial institutions today operate across siloed systems for KYC, credit assessment, fraud detection, and servicing, leading to duplicated effort, slower decision cycles, and inconsistent risk controls. Perfios’ AI-powered OS aims to address this by integrating domain-trained large language models (LLMs), vision-language models, retrieval systems, and policy-aware architectures into a unified, real-time framework.

Early deployments have shown measurable operational impact, the company said, including around 30% savings in operating costs, faster capital deployment, and improved early-vintage repayment performance without a corresponding increase in risk exposure.

At the core of the platform is a suite of agentic products that function as a shared intelligence layer. These include Data Intelligence Bridge, which focuses on document understanding, verification, and fraud detection; KSCAN AI for conversational KYC and KYB workflows; CAM AI for underwriting and automated credit appraisal notes; and Maestro, a collections intelligence system that adapts borrower engagement based on behaviour. Additional modules cover customer journey automation and Banking-as-a-Service orchestration to support embedded finance use cases with end-to-end auditability.

“The future of BFSI is not just automated, it is cognitive,” said Sumit Nigam, Chief Technology Officer at Perfios. “Financial institutions need systems that understand context, learn from every interaction, and make decisions instantly with full traceability. Our AI-powered real-time OS establishes that foundational intelligence layer while staying aligned with the RBI’s principles of responsible AI.”
