Bank of Baroda launches eRUPI P2P digital gifting on UPI
By Vriti Gothi

Bank of Baroda has launched an industry-first eRUPI Person-to-Person (P2P) Digital Gifting feature on its bob इ Pay UPI app. Leveraging the National Payments Corporation of India’s (NPCI) e-RUPI platform, this solution enables customers to send personalised, purpose-specific, prepaid digital vouchers to family, friends, or other beneficiaries, enriching the UPI experience with secure, meaningful, and versatile gifting options. The feature is fully interoperable across UPI platforms.
The eRUPI P2P digital voucher offers a simple, cashless, and highly secure payment mechanism that can be redeemed for a variety of goods and services. Initially launched for the Food category, additional use cases are planned, allowing recipients to conveniently redeem vouchers at UPI-enabled merchants. With voucher values ranging upto $113.26, the solution is designed for flexibility and inclusivity. Non-redeemed amounts are automatically refunded to the sender after the validity period, and there are no restrictions on the number of vouchers issued within the daily UPI transaction limit.
Shri Sanjay Mudaliar, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, said, “With the launch of the industry-first eRUPI P2P Digital Gifting feature, Bank of Baroda is deepening its commitment to delivering innovative, customer-centric solutions on the UPI platform. These digital vouchers are a secure, private, and inclusive way of gifting. As we expand the use cases of UPI and eRUPI, our aim is to drive greater adoption and extend the benefits of digital payments to a wider audience. This launch reflects Bank of Baroda’s efforts in building a more vibrant digital payments ecosystem that keeps pace with the evolving needs of customers.”
The bob इ Pay UPI app provides a seamless, secure, and user-friendly digital payments experience, enabling instant fund transfers, mobile recharges, and bill settlements via linked bank accounts and RuPay credit cards. Strengthening its global footprint, bob इ Pay now facilitates international UPI transactions across eight countries USA, France, Singapore, Mauritius, UAE, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Nepal supports foreign inward remittances from Singapore residents, and extends UPI services for NRIs, further advancing Bank of Baroda’s mission to create a comprehensive, borderless digital banking ecosystem.
