Access Bank has modernised its core banking systems in collaboration with Oracle, reinforcing its commitment to customer-centric innovation and future-ready digital banking. The initiative, which supports more than 60 million customers across 24 markets and three continents, represents a strategic investment in resilient infrastructure, scalable performance, and seamless service delivery.
At the heart of the transformation lies the deployment of Oracle FLEXCUBE, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle Private Cloud Appliance, creating an agile foundation designed to power end-to-end banking operations across retail, corporate, and treasury businesses. This state-of-the-art infrastructure enables Access Bank to deliver uninterrupted, efficient, and innovative financial services while responding swiftly to rising customer expectations and market demands.
“Our goal was to create a future-ready banking environment that delivers uninterrupted, efficient, and customer-centric services,” said Roosevelt Ogbonna, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Access Bank. “Our successful deployment of Oracle’s solutions has enabled us to simplify operations, reduce time-to-market for new products, and lay the foundation for sustained innovation across all areas of our business.”
The modernisation enhances the bank’s ability to offer a comprehensive suite of financial products, including current and savings accounts, retail and corporate lending, payments, trade finance, and treasury services. By leveraging Oracle’s open architecture and extensive banking portfolio, Access Bank has created a flexible, cloud-ready ecosystem capable of scaling rapidly as transaction volumes grow.
Access Bank’s adoption of Oracle Exadata and Oracle Private Cloud Appliance strengthens its computing infrastructure, ensuring enhanced scalability and resilience. These systems support more than 35 million transactions per day, improving online transaction processing performance and reducing service disruptions ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction and trust.
“Oracle has been actively serving the African banking industry for more than 30 years and we’ve closely collaborated with Access Bank for two decades,” said Sonny Singh, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Oracle Financial Services. “Our award-winning banking solutions are designed to offer customers the agility, flexibility, and ongoing innovation required for high-performance, secure operations at scale. Access Bank’s recent, successful deployment demonstrates how our integrated core banking platform and applications enable banks to modernise their operations and accelerate digital transformation across business lines without the risk of overhauling and replacing the applications that are central to their core operations.”
