TS Imagine has launched LoanSmart, an integrated, front-to-back, multi-asset platform for securities lending, repurchase agreements, and collateral management across the buy- and sell-side. This milestone follows TS Imagine’s 2024 acquisition of PrimeOne, its prime brokerage platform, further strengthening the firm’s position in the capital markets technology landscape.

LoanSmart enables market participants to operate securities-backed lending and repo businesses while automating critical processes through a single, seamless system. With this addition, TS Imagine’s prime brokerage clients can access stock loan capabilities alongside cash and synthetic prime brokerage, complemented by sophisticated risk management powered by RiskSmart, the firm’s proprietary risk platform.

TS Imagine has appointed Gary Flower as Managing Director of LoanSmart. Mr Flower brings over 35 years of experience in securities lending, including leadership roles at Morgan Stanley and Nomura. Previously founder of a consultancy that delivered securities financing solutions to major banks, he combines extensive industry knowledge with technology insights developed over two decades. His appointment marks a key strategic step as TS Imagine drives digital innovation in the securities lending space.

LoanSmart offers a comprehensive suite of capabilities spanning front-office, mid-office, and back-office operations. The platform provides position management with fast, accurate netting, valuation and laddering, counterparty and book optimisation, and automated order and rate handling. Mid- and back-office functions cover lifecycle and collateral management through logical workflows, including post-trade processes such as reset, movement, billing, and rate monitoring. Its proprietary rules-based engine delivers consistent, risk-adjusted pricing across all asset classes, counterparties, and entities, while integrated collateral management optimises allocation, margin monitoring, tri-party agent oversight, cash pool management, and depot controls. LoanSmart also supports a broad spectrum of products, including securities borrowing and lending, repurchase agreements, cash deposits, letters of credit, FX spot, forwards and swaps, and cash trades.

Rob Flatley, CEO of TS Imagine, said, “At TS Imagine, our goal has always been to build a comprehensive all-in-one platform that addresses ingrained market challenges, including legacy technology, operational inefficiencies, and transparency gaps. The launch of LoanSmart represents a major strategic milestone, creating an unrivalled platform for prime brokers and firms operating in the securities lending market.”

Gary Flower, Managing Director of LoanSmart, said, “The securities lending market, long challenged by manual processes, inconsistent pricing, and limited transparency, is primed for modernisation. LoanSmart delivers a single, integrated solution that automates key stock loan and repo functions for both the buy- and sell-side. Already proven at a major bank, it addresses long-standing market inefficiencies.”
