Deutsche Bank has partnered with Swift to launch Instant Cash Reporting (ICR), a next-generation API solution.

The partnership is an advancement in the Bank’s commitment to digital transformation, empowering corporate treasuries with seamless, real-time access to vital cash and account information.

The launch underscores Deutsche Bank’s strategic investment in expanding its API product suite, combining the security and trusted reach of Swift’s infrastructure with Deutsche Bank’s innovative digital capabilities. ICR enables corporate and financial institutions to retrieve instant, standardised account and balance data through a single, secure connection, simplifying treasury management and driving operational efficiency across complex banking ecosystems.

Accessible via the Swift network, ICR utilises the ISO 20022 data model and secure JSON format to ensure consistency, interoperability and robust cybersecurity. Through this solution, corporates can automate real-time cash visibility, identify unexpected incoming payments, and optimise balance management all while integrating seamlessly with their existing treasury systems.

Johnny Grimes, Head of Corporate Cash Product at Deutsche Bank, said, “Deutsche Bank, leveraging the combined strengths of Swift and the API network, is setting a new industry benchmark for real-time treasury solutions. Instant Cash Reporting directly addresses the pressing need for multi-bank standards and seamless API connectivity — empowering our clients with enhanced cash visibility, greater process automation and tangible cost efficiencies.”

As Deutsche Bank implements ICR, Iberdrola, the Spain-based global energy leader, is already realising substantial benefits. By embedding ICR within its treasury operations, Iberdrola reports significant process automation, error reduction, optimised resource allocation, and improved working capital management, reinforcing its commitment to digital innovation and operational excellence.

Rishikesh Tinaikar, Global Head of Corporates Go-To-Market at Swift, said, “We have made considerable investments to ensure our community has flexible, real-time access to modern API solutions. Instant Cash Reporting complements our broader strategy, including white-labelled tracking services and the rollout of ISO 20022 across the payment chain to help banks and financial institutions deliver new value to corporate treasury teams worldwide.”

With ICR now live, Deutsche Bank invites other banks and corporates to join this industry-leading initiative and scale the adoption of multi-bank API solutions globally. As the bank continues to expand its digital capabilities, its focus remains clear: delivering secure, interoperable, and future-ready solutions that enable clients to thrive in an increasingly real-time financial landscape.
