TBC Uzbekistan launches digital insurance service
By Vriti Gothi
TBC Uzbekistan, a digital banking platform, has launched TBC Insurance, expanding its portfolio into a new and growing market segment.
The new insurance service is fully integrated within the broader TBC Uzbekistan ecosystem and can be accessed through the TBC UZ banking application. Starting with credit life insurance, the product line will gradually broaden to cover a wider range of personal insurance options, aiming to offer customers greater security through a simple, fully digital experience.
TBC Insurance was initially launched in April 2025 following regulatory approval from the National Agency of Perspective Projects of Uzbekistan, which granted the company a life insurance licence in March.
The expansion forms part of the wider strategy to build out its digital services and consolidate its position in Uzbekistan’s fast-evolving financial services sector. The bank’s user base now accounts for over half of the country’s population, supported by year-on-year growth that saw revenue and lending double in the first quarter of 2025. Over the past year, TBC Uzbekistan has added new products such as the Salom debit card, Osmon credit card, and SME banking and lending solutions, aiming to create more connected services for its customers.
Nika Kurdiani, Chief Executive Officer of TBC Uzbekistan, said, “We see insurance as a natural extension, a product that empowers customers to feel more secure and in control of their financial lives. With the launch of TBC Insurance, we’re continuing to thoughtfully expand our digital banking ecosystem, ensuring each new product complements the others and enhances the overall value we deliver to our customers. Insurance will be a key part of this journey, helping to deepen engagement and strengthen trust in the ecosystem.”
TBC Uzbekistan has indicated that it plans to extend its insurance offering further over time, to develop a broader suite of fully digital, customer-focused insurance products as part of its commitment to widening access to financial services across the country.
