US-based stablecoin payments infrastructure provider Rain has entered a long-term partnership with Episode Six to support the expansion of its card issuing capabilities, beginning with Asia-Pacific (APAC).

Under the agreement, Episode Six will act as a core processing partner for Rain’s credit, debit, and prepaid card programmes across multiple networks and geographies. The initial rollout will focus on APAC, where both firms cite rising demand for stablecoin-powered payment solutions, particularly in cross-border and enterprise use cases.

The partnership follows Rain’s recent expansion of its Visa membership into APAC and reflects a broader strategy to build a globally distributed infrastructure stack for enterprise-grade card programmes. By integrating Episode Six’s locally deployed processing capabilities, Rain aims to offer clients in-market solutions that can be scaled without requiring region-specific rebuilds.

“As we expand into Asia-Pacific and scale our programs across additional markets and networks, having processing infrastructure that can grow with us is essential,” said Charles Yoo-Naut, CTO and Co-Founder of Rain. “Episode Six brings exactly what we need, with local presence in the markets that matter, proven execution at scale, and a platform flexible enough to support whatever we build next.”

APAC has emerged as one of the fastest-growing regions for stablecoin transaction volumes, driven largely by cross-border B2B settlement flows and corporate treasury management. In this context, access to compliant, locally embedded infrastructure is increasingly viewed as essential for FinTechs seeking to operationalise stablecoin-based payment programmes across multiple jurisdictions.

Episode Six’s platform, which operates across more than 50 countries, provides API-driven configurability across key parameters such as fees, foreign exchange rules, and risk controls. This level of flexibility allows FinTechs and enterprise clients to tailor card programmes to local regulatory requirements and business models, a capability often constrained in legacy processing systems.

“Rain is setting the standard for stablecoin-powered card programs globally, and we are proud to be the infrastructure partner powering that expansion in Asia-Pacific,” said John Mitchell, CEO of Episode Six. “Our local infrastructure, scheme integrations, and purpose-built platform are designed for programs that need to operate at high volume, across borders, and in compliance with local requirements from day one. APAC is where we are starting, but the scope of what we are building with Rain extends well beyond this single region.”

For Rain, the partnership expands its processing network and supports its ambition to offer modular infrastructure for stablecoin-linked financial products. While APAC represents the initial focus, both companies indicated plans to extend the integration to additional regions and payment networks, aligning with growing institutional interest in stablecoin-based payment rails.
