WorldRemit and Onfido to boost verification process for customers

WorldRemitWorldRemit announced its collaboration with identity verification and authentication company, Onfido in a bid to simplify the process of opening an account with the former and transfer money abroad. The partnership will allow WorldRemit to leverage the identity verification company’s solution for automating its KYC decision-making process while verifying customers.

Stephen Moffatt, director of payments at WorldRemit, said, “Our new partnership with Onfido is an important step for us in reducing friction, helping new customers join our platform faster so they can send money home. As part of our constant efforts to improve and refine our customer experience, adding Onfido’s functionality to our registration process will ensure that we can put our customers on the happy path of sending money home while protecting them from fraudsters.”

According to WorldRemit, the collaboration will allow quick joining of new customers and maintain compliance as well as a reduction in risk of fraud. It is also expected to boost financial inclusion for the platform through optimised verification technology and granular feedback. WorldRemit will also be able to alert relevant bodies in case of ID thefts.

Recently, WorldRemit entered into a partnership with bill payment hub Paykii with an aim to launch international bill payments through the money transfer company’s app or website.
