Wirecard’s offering to accelerate customers’ PSD2 onboarding process

In light of the upcoming PSD2 deadline, Wirecard has announced a new offering, Digital Financial Commerce Platform, which will allow its customers to fast track to PSD2 onboarding.

Sreelekha Sankar, EVP Payment & Risk at Wirecard, said, “We see the current period shortly before the transition to the new PSD2 regulations very positively. Thanks to our fast digital service offering, our merchants have nothing to be concerned about. Of course, we are pleased that, as a result, we are seeing an above-average number of new customers, both in the large merchant segment on the Wirecard platform as well as in the SME segment via SUPR.”

Wirecard’s offering is expected to benefit its corporate customers as well as new consumers with the Fast Track PSD2 Onboarding Service. The solution will provide large as well as small and medium-sized merchants the prerequisites for two-factor authentication (3D Secure 2).

The two-factor authentication requires a combination of a password/PIN and biometrics, resulting in the requirement of a thorough change in the backend process of payment acceptance by the merchants.

Recently, Wirecard announced the launch of a new mobile app focused at its North American clientele which is aimed at enabling the customers to track related balances and payment activities on their mobiles.
