TransferGo completes 5 million transactions, hires four

London-based FinTech TransferGo has completed over five million transactions and made four senior hires from Santander, Yoyo, Airbnb and Mettrr, to manage the growth.

The remittance company has hired people for the positions Chief Product Officer (CPO), Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Chief People Officer and Chief Growth Officer as it is launching its service in 50 countries.

Scott Chow is joining TransferGo as the CPO from his position as CPO at Santander’s FinTech Asto, which develops financial tools for SMEs and freelancers. He has also held the position of CPO at Starling Bank.

Simon Moran, previously CCO at multi-retailer mobile loyalty and payments platform Yoyo, has taken on the CCO position, and he has also worked eight years for PayPal’s UK senior leadership team.

Taking on the position as Chief People Officer is Anna Roe, the previous Global Head of People at Airbnb management experts, Airsorted. Prior to this she was Global Recruitment Lead (engineering) for Transferwise.

The fourth hire, Gareth Knight, will work as Chief Growth Officer. He has held CMO positions at B3B SaaS business Mettrr and gym marketplace PayAsUgym.

The expansion of TransferGo includes payment corridors to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Indonesia – an area which, according to TransferGo is seeing a “huge increase in the volume of remittances as expatriates look to find the most cost-effective and efficient ways to send money to friends and family”.

Daumantas Dvilinskas, CEO and Co-Founder, TransferGo commented: “As we continue to grow rapidly and expand our offering into new markets, we needed to ensure we had the right personnel on board to enable us to keep providing one of the best remittance services available. We’re delighted to welcome Scott, Simon, Anna and Gareth to our team at this exciting time.”
