TALL Group extends partnership with Handelsbanken

TALL GroupUK-based TALL Group has extended its partnership with Handelsbanken by securing an initial three-year contract for the provision of cheque books.

Under the agreement, TALL Group’s Lisburn-based subsidiary DLRT Ltd will print and personalise cheque and credit books for customers of the Sweden-based bank. DLRT incorporates a range of security features in the books to help prevent frauds, including a Unique Coded Number (UCN).

UCN is applied to cheques and works in combination with the MICR (magnetic code line). It is created as an arrangement of digits, characters and symbols that can be decrypted by certified personnel using a ‘secret key’.

UCN is one of the Image Survivable Features, designed and developed by TALL Group as part of its cheque printing solutions to provide effective fraud prevention following the first phase rollout of the new Image Clearing System in October.

This deal is an extension of an existing relationship between Handelsbanken and TALL Group subsidiary named Checkprint. The extension was secured following a rigorous review and testing process, with the TALL Group also putting in place a complete contingency plan for future orders.

TALL Group said the bank will continue to deploy the ‘Checkprint Banking Assistant’ solution to benefit from increased control and visibility. Moving forward, the banking assistant will incorporate cheque validation software to capture the UCN from incoming cheques before authenticating the items.
