Starling Bank & Tribe Payments partner for access to real-time payment schemes

Julian Sawyer, Head of Banking Services at Starling Bank

Starling Banking Services has partnered with payments platform Tribe Payments in a bid to provide its customers with real-time access to the major UK and European Payment Schemes.

According to the supplier, Starling’s Banking services aim to provide Tribe with real-time access to faster payments, integration with Starling’s PSD2 compliant APIs and full bank-grade accounts with virtual account offerings.  The services are expected to enable payment service providers, retailers, corporations with the opportunity to enhance development and scalability of new products.

Julian Sawyer, Head of Banking Services at Starling Bank, said: “Starling’s Banking Services continues its growth through our partnership with Tribe. Providing innovative businesses access to cutting-edge banking – both cards and bank to bank payments.”

Established in 2018 in the UK, Tribe Payments offers end to end services in the payments space. It uses disposable technology to ensure zero-obsolescence and containerisation to minimise risk. Tribe Payments provides all aspects of payments technology to businesses, primarily issuers and acquirers, that serve merchants and consumers using its modular platform ISAAC.

Suresh Vaghjiani, CEO of Tribe Payments, said: “In the Open Banking era, connectivity is king. Consumers want to choose how they pay and get paid and in real-time, with all the functionality of a full bank account. Banks, fintechs and payment providers have lacked access to these tools, with legacy systems resulting in complex integrations, delays and unreliable services. With Starling’s Banking Services, we can offer our customers the connectivity and tools to deliver powerful payment experiences via a single API.”
