Signicat to cover 208 countries with enhanced digital verification offering

Norway-based digital identity solutions provider, Signicat has announced new capabilities for expanding and enhancing the reach and performance of its digital identity verification service. The supplier states that the new enhancement is expected to expand its reach to 208 countries with identity verification services including identity document scanning, web-based video interviews, NFC scanning of passports, etc.

“The Internet has damaged the concept of trust and created a world where it is easy to masquerade as someone else. Businesses, particularly those in regulated industries, need to maintain trust in their customer relationships. But as the digitization of customer engagement processes grows, reducing risk and fraud is vital. Our aim with this release is to future-proof our platform to ensure we can provide our customers with access to best-in-class identity verification technologies across a wide range of markets, all accessible through a single integration point,” said Gunnar Nordseth, CEO at Signicat.

According to the supplier, the new API will allow the new verification methods to be added to the Signicat Digital Identity Platform. It will also introduce three new integrations such as agent-based verification, automated identity document verification, NFC reading of passports for the reduction of risk and fraud while simultaneously enhancing the customer experience.

Recently, Signicat announced the acquisition of identification and electronic solutions provider, Idfy in a bid to enhance Signicat’s portfolio of services.
