National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) Egypt has launched the next version of its internet banking services after signing on software and solutions firm CR2. The system, BankWorld Internet, will power the bank’s new omnichannel offerings.

According to CR2, NBAD customers will now be able to use a personalised customer experience “delivered by a true omnichannel provider.” The bank will have reduced operating costs and an opportunity to generate revenue through targeted and personalised services, it adds.

“With CR2, we are working alongside a trusted partner who truly understands our dedication to providing the very best omnichannel service banking to our customers,” says Ahmed Ismail, NBAD Egypt CEO. “We are excited to be able to bring our brand new internet banking channel to our loyal customers and look forward to also introducing our new mobile app in the very near future.”

NBAD Egypt will also be using CR2 to launch a new mobile banking app in the near future. The banking group became the first bank in the Middle East to go live on blockchain for real-time cross border payments earlier this year, using Ripple technology.
