Monzo has just closed its latest fundraising round, raising £71 million from Goodwater Capital, Stripe and Michael Moritz, through his charitable investment vehicles including the Crankstart Foundation. Other investors, who had led previous rounds, like Passion Capital, Thrive Capital and Orange Digital Ventures, have each made follow-on investments.

Monzo has dedicated £1.5 million to allow previous crowd investors to participate. If you have previously invested in Monzo through our crowdfunding rounds, look out for an email from Crowdcube later today with all the details.

For those people who weren’t able to participate in their crowdfunding campaign, Monzo already has plans to open up new rounds and allow them to join the Monzo investor hype.

Monzo’s growth in the past year has been impressive, going from 100,000 customers to half a million, gaining a full banking license and moved to current accounts offering Android Pay.
