  • ME Bank launches new internet banking service with Sandstone Technology

Australia-based digital bank ME Bank has launched a new internet banking service in collaboration with Sandstone Technology and its BankFast platform. The focus of the new service us on growth, says Sandstone, which adds that ME Bank now has a baseline from which to develop and launch new products and services in the future.

The solution is a front-to-back platform which delivers “simple yet powerful banking experiences,” according to the vendor. The new portal includes new security features and a portal-based dashboard which support customisation and the inclusion of superannuation account details. The service was built and delivered quickly, says ME Bank, a testament to the “agile approach” of both vendor and bank.

“As a Digital bank, ME has to deliver a great online experience,” says ME Bank Brand and Digital Director, Ingrid Purcell. “Our new internet banking portal is a significant step forward in terms of functionality and importantly allows for future development … Desirable online and mobile banking is vital for supporting a fast-growing customer base, many of whom prefer to transact online. The new system was implemented with minimal interruption and has been well-received by customers.”

ME Bank kicked off a project of investing more than AU$60 million (US$57 million) in technology transformation in 2013, aiming to deliver 24 technology solutions over 15 projects. The bank uses Temenos’s T24 core banking system, chosen, according to CIO at the time Kathryn Hawkins, due to the firm’s broad knowledge of the industry.
