Stephen Murphy, CEO of genesis

Capital markets software company genesis has launched a ‘low-code’ application platform, designed to offer digital transformation and tools at a high speed.

According to genesis, the platform enables the delivery of robust, secure products and solutions because it reduces the amount of coding needed, making the delivery available through three different builds.

Clients are able to choose between the ‘Build it’ option, where they develop their own solutions; ‘Ready built’, where genesis provides a catalogue of pre-built capital markets products; and ‘Build together’, a bespoke service, using genesis’ capital markets expertise to build client-specific solutions.

Commenting, Stephen Murphy, the CEO of genesis, said: “‘Low-code’ has been used widely outside the industry to create all sorts of applications at speed, and at a drastically reduced cost. The world of capital markets is changing, and the industry is waking up to the necessity for smarter application development.”

He said genesis believes the platform is the first capital markets-specific low-code platform, and one that is built to handle financial instruments and the surrounding control environment. The platform itself is available as a service (PaaS), where resulting solutions are cloud-deployed by default.

Clients will be able to address industry challenges, such as regulatory requirements and limitations of incumbent vendors and software methodology processes, while also lowering costs.
They will also get access to global clearing houses, from sell-side firms to asset managers, covering both trading and post-trade solution use cases.

“For our clients, the platform delivers incredible productivity both in creating new solutions and sustaining and improving existing solutions. We believe the genesis platform is the future blueprint for capital markets software delivery,” Murphy said.
