Dena Hamilton, Featurespace’s new hire

Fraud detection company Featurespace has appointed industry veteran Dena Hamilton as its newest fraud and financial crime market expert.

Before joining Featurespace, which specialises in fraud detection, risk prevention and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, Hamilton provided oversight for the development and delivery of fraud and financial crime detection and case management software solutions at NCR Corp., BAE Systems, Inc. and ACI Worldwide, Inc.

She has more than 20 years’ experience in enterprise fraud and financial crime analytics technologies, with specialised expertise in software product development to reduce losses and increase operational efficiency.

Dave Excell, founder and CTO of Featurespace, explained that in order to outpace fraud and financial crime technology must be paired with “the brightest minds, and the relationship between the two is symbiotic.”

“[Hamilton’s] expertise is a perfect example of this. In addition to a wealth of experience in fraud prevention, she brings valuable insight to the ongoing strategic development of our solution, making her a crucial asset to our team as we tackle AML around the world,” he said.

Hamilton, who will be based in Atlanta, commented: “I am excited to join the Featurespace team during this time of rapid growth and expansion in the North American market.”

Featurespace, which is already working with large-scale banks such as Barclays, announced a partnership with NatWest at this year’s Sibos in London, where it also discussed its approach to fraud prevention in an interview with IBS Intelligence.
