Zurich-based property and casualty insurance company, Chubb, is planning to set up a business service center in India by the end of this year. The business center will operate as a single legal entity and would be located in Hyderabad and Bengaluru to focus on business support services for the company’s expanding technology and actuarial functions.

The center would employ technical professionals providing support in areas such as intelligent process automation, digital technology, data analytics, and others such as catastrophe modeling and risk management.

Sean Ringsted, Chief Risk Officer & Chief Digital Officer, Chub told newspersons at a press conference in Hyderabad on Thursday that, “One of Chubb’s strategic priorities is to transform our company to be truly compelling in a digital age. To further advance our progress, we need internal talent capable of executing our digital technology and analytics work at the pace and scale that the business is now seeking. That includes building and expanding critical digital skills and expertise in data analytics, machine learning, quantitative sciences, and intelligent process automation.”

He further added that the professionals from the India business centre will support high impact areas such as digital technology and analytical areas to support global insurance operations of Chubb.

Chubb will commence operations with more than 100 positions and will collaborate with T-Hub, Hyderabad for innovation. Chubb operates in 54 countries with 31000 employees on its rolls across Jersey City, N.J., Miami, Fla., and Singapore.

“We are excited to work with our local partners to build a pipeline of professionals who have critical skills and can drive innovation. These are high impact jobs for one of the world’s largest and most respected property and casualty insurance companies. The people we attract will have an opportunity to do exciting, innovative work,” he added.
