Turkey-based payments platform, ininal, announced that they will be collaborating with Alipay, payments and lifestyle platform operated by Ant Financial Services Group, a related company of Alibaba. The service will be available to Chinese tourists and can be availed in the facilities of Dorak Holdings, a tourism company.

Dorak Holdings currently serves more than 85% of the Chinese tourist visiting Turkey planning all their activities along with managing several merchants (speciality retailers, hot-air balloons in Cappadocia, shops, hotels, and Turkish restaurants) throughout Turkey. Following this partnership, Chinese customer would be able to connect with Turkish merchants allowing for digital marketing and also for making payments via the Alipay app.

The collaboration will make it possible for Chinese tourists to pay in Chinese Yuan during their visits to Turkey and then the Turkish merchants can process these payments in US Dollars at Dorak Tour locations. This service is also planned to expand so as to accommodate and receive Turkish Lira later in the summer.

This collaboration comes after similar deals made by Alibaba for Chinese tourist in Germany in 2015.

Ömer Suner highlighted the importance of such convenient payment facilities as Chinese tourist account for highest tourist spending in Turkey thus increasing the foreign currency entering the country.
