Backbase Omni-Channel deal powers BGŻ BNP Paribas Bank

Polish bank, BGŻ BNP Paribas Bank has announced its intention to unveil a new digital platform, powered by Backbase Omni-Channel Banking solution.

BGŻ BNP Paribas Bank, formed from a series of mergers, had multiple legacy systems crippling its modernization. Going forward, the bank has implemented a “Fast Forward” strategy with focus on digitization that aims to improve its operations, making it more agile and quick to respond to market changes. The bank selected Backbase as the omnichannel solution supplier to provide it with the required technological expertise.

Jouk Pleiter, chief executive officer, Backbase commented, “Poland is a very innovative market where banks constantly strive to improve their digital capabilities. We are impressed with BGŻ BNP Paribas Bank’s digital strategy and execution power. They are not just driving a digital transformation initiative, they have taken on a complete business transformation”.

Piotr Marciniak, head of digital and mobile, BGŻ BNP Paribas Bank said, “Cooperation with Backbase is a natural consequence of the requirements of our transformation program. Implementing the Backbase Omni-Channel Banking Platform will make our services easier, faster and more innovative.”

The implementation will be partner-led and will see internet banking as the first service being moved over to the new platform with plans in the future of shifting to a single architecture with the implementation of Backbase mobile.
