Mint Payments has partnered with The Travel Network Group to empower more than 1,100 members and affiliates across the Group’s network with innovative, secure, and fully integrated payment capabilities.
The launch signals Mint’s first international expansion beyond the Asia-Pacific region and addresses a critical gap in the UK’s travel payments landscape. As legacy providers withdraw from the space, travel agents and tour operators have been left exposed to fragmented payment workflows, operational inefficiencies, and limited protection mechanisms. Mint’s technology seeks to change this by delivering a unified, future-ready payments infrastructure designed specifically for the travel ecosystem.
Founded in Sydney, Mint Payments is the leading travel payments provider across Australia and New Zealand, processing over $2.3 billion annually. The company’s proven expertise in solving complex payment challenges within the travel industry underpins its UK entry strategy. Through its partnership with The Travel Network Group, Mint aims to enhance trust, speed, and resilience in travel-related payments.
Alex Teoh, CEO of Mint Payments, said, “The UK travel payments market remains dominated by incumbent banks but they do not understand the intricate requirements of the travel industry and have not provided innovative, cost-effective solutions to help travel businesses grow. Travel is known for customer excellence, but this level of excellence is rare in financial services and paytech serving the industry it represents a significant opportunity for Mint to shake up the market.”
Mint’s platform simplifies and secures the full payment journey for travel businesses. Its solution offers automated payment flows, multi-currency support, flexible payment options including cards, bank transfers, and digital wallets, as well as chargeback guarantees and integration with existing booking and accounting systems. A standout feature, Mint Protect, safeguards travel agents and tour operators by protecting their cash flow and customer funds even in cases of supplier failure, a level of protection rarely available from traditional providers.
With the UK travel industry processing an estimated $96 billion in consumer and business-to-business payments annually, Mint’s entry represents a substantial market opportunity. The company projects transactions on its platform to reach $2.95 billion in 2026–2027, reflecting its ambition to become a core enabler of financial resilience and innovation across the travel sector.
Gary Lewis, CEO of The Travel Network Group, said, “We are committed to giving our members technology that supports their businesses, and payments are a critical part of that journey. Mint’s expertise in the travel industry, combined with their innovative tools like Mint Protect and a dedicated support team based in the UK, makes them the right partner to provide our members with secure, efficient, and future-ready payment solutions.”
